Healthy Living, Mindful Movement, Lessons in Teaching, and Life with Boxers

Welcome to Wellness and Boxer Wags
My name is Sue! I’m a wife, retired educator, lifelong athlete, yoga and fitness enthusiast, healthy-ish food lover, and, most importantly, a very proud boxer momma.
For the last 34 years, I lived in the world of high school education as a health teacher, an assistant principal, and then back to the classroom and gymnasium as a health & PE teacher. Although I retired from public education, I certainly did not retire from teaching! Today, I teach fitness and yoga classes at a local studio and continue doing what I’ve always loved: helping people move, feel stronger, and live well.
I spent a lot of time in school :) I have a B.S. in Exercise Physiology, an M.S. in Health Education, a 6th year degree, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I am also an RYT 500-hour Yoga Instructor, and a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. But some of my favorite lessons have come from simply living, learning, experimenting, and staying curious. I’m a lifelong learner who believes there’s always something new to discover.
Wellness and Boxer Wags 🐾 is where all of that comes together. Here, I’ll share practical fitness and yoga tips, healthy and delicious recipes, lessons from my years in education, and ideas for creating a healthier, more vibrant lifestyle without chasing perfection. My goal is simple: help you move well, eat well, feel well, and enjoy life a little more.
And then there are the wags! My beloved boxer, Tango, is a big part of my life and the inspiration behind the fun, playful side of this journey. He keeps me moving, laughing, and reminds me that wellness should include plenty of joy, connection, and belly rubs.
So whether you’re here for a new recipe, a yoga or fitness idea, a little inspiration, or simply some boxer love, I’m glad you’re here.
Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. Move your body. Nourish it well. Keep learning. Find joy. Stay balanced. And always make room for a few wags along the way :)
With love and gratitude (and a request for belly rubs from guess who?),
Sue & Tango 🐾
